Refund policy

We understand sometimes during transit, fragile items such as eggs can crack or break. Whilst we go to every effort to ensure our eggs are robustly and securely packaged (the vast majority of our customer receive 100% intact eggs!), breakages can occur from time to time. We feel it unfair for the customer to burden all of this risk, so our policy is to refund breakages and ensure, you, the customer only pays for the eggs you can consume.

Broken eggs are typically refunded based on the price of the egg, excluding P&P. This is currently £15.50 per 30 chicken eggs / £4.90 per 6 for duck eggs. This ensures that you end up paying the delivered price of useable eggs.

In some cases for subscribers, we may be able to top up future orders with extra eggs to compensate for breakages, instead of refunded. This is done to our discretion based on the size of order and availability of eggs.

“Breakages” are classed as such where the inner membrane has been compromised. Superficial cracks are not normally refunded as these can typically be consumed safely within days of receipt

We must be informed of breakages within 24 hours of receipt. Pictures must be provided of:

  • the outer parcel

  • the delivery label (DPD)

  • the packaging inside

  • the broken eggs for which refund is sought

This is at the request of our courier as part of our claim to them for damages. Without this evidence, we will not be able claim for any compensation.

We cannot take responsibility for any eggs spoiling as result of being sat in their packaging with broken eggs for longer than a 24 hour period, hence we require you to open packages immediately upon receipt and assess for damage, informing us as soon as possible.
